Event Overview

Airport A&I 2020 announcement
As with all the UKs large hotels, the Marriott Heathrow (Airport A&I’s 2020 venue) expects to receive government notifications sometime in July regarding safe hotel guidance and full re-opening dates. Following several frank discussions, it is already clear that no hotel of this size can adhere to the guidelines with 200+ delegates. Similarly, we cannot be sure what quarantine restrictions will still be in place at the end of summer which is problematic for both speakers and delegates.

The effect of C19 on the aviation business is completely unprecedented and every airport has been forced to make tough decisions in order to survive. For those that can adapt quickly, there are still opportunities ahead but the key to unlocking them is, as ever, innovation. So, until physical events can restart safely, we are innovating together with the industry and creating two new products to help airports and suppliers help each other navigate the best route to a quick recovery:

Hosted Airport Supplier Online Meetings (HASOMs)
HASOMs are live, exclusive digital meetings with key international airport procurement and management alongside regulators.

Meetings are chaired by a neutral, well-respected industry figure who will introduce the ‘host supplier’ to the airports and vice versa preceding a 30-minute direct presentation to the airports which can also include a case study or demo with video assets as required. Presentations are followed by a Q&A session between all and a round-up by the chair.

“The value isn’t in the automation or innovation, it’s in the mind-set of always looking over the horizon so that you’re part of the disruption and not merely subject to it.”
